Dare to Dream it!

Are you stuck in your job?

Do you feel like your life is being run for you by others?

Did you have dreams when you were younger, but someone told you that none of that stuff is possible?

If you answered yes or maybe to any of these questions then we can help you start to achieve those long forgotten dreams and make them come true.  You could be living the life of your dreams NOW!

There was a time when I felt like you.  Trapped in the rat race of the corporate world.  I had a relatively good job, had done some traveling, but I didn’t realize what I was missing and had forgotten those dreams I had when I was a teenager and in my early twenties.  I dreamed of driving a racing car, I dreamed of living in a large, beautiful home and of being able to be an artist.

While at high school I was told by my English teacher told me I would never amount to anything.  I carried that statement with me throughout most of my life until about 12 years ago when I started to learn that wasn’t the case.  During high school I had to work really hard to achieve good grades.  I didn’t realize at the time that I was dyslexic and that is why I couldn’t always spell things correctly or had problems putting sentences together with the best grammar.  But at that time that type of learning challenge was not known about and there certainly wasn’t any special tutoring for pupils like me.  Although I was sometimes challenged in English and Math, I excelled at Art and Geography.  It is not surprising that I am now an artist and love to travel!

During my middle school years I was severely bullied at school.  It was to the point that I would no longer attend classes.  If the culprit was going to be there, I was going to be elsewhere.  One day I was found crying in the auditorium, hiding behind a curtain.  That is how bad it was.  Luckily the powers that be acted on the situation and I don't remember have trouble after that.  Although the bullying stopped the damage to my self-esteem and self worth had been done!

When I was leaving high school my dream was to go to University and study art.  I wanted to be a designer or even a jewelry designer, but funds were not available for such a venture and therefore, I was shipped off to secretarial school.  At the time I was told that was a much more appropriate profession for a 'young lady'.  Although I have been sad at times about not following my dreams at that point, my training has helped me immensely during my life and still does today.  Secretarial school helped me become the successful entrepreneur that I am today.

In about 2004 my husband, Don and I started to work on ourselves.  We started attending trainings and personal development workshops and camps.  In fact for a while we were addicted to self-improvement!  We attended marketing workshops to improve our business, we attended conferences and heard inspirational speakers and we started following our dreams.

In fact it was during this time that I heard about the Dream Manager program and have used that program to achieve my dreams.  I still have dreams to achieve, but here are some that have already been realized:

In 2001 we had visited Kauai and what a beautiful place!  We decided to take a helicopter tour, it was something that I always wanted to do.  Helicopters had always had a strange fascination for me. I was so excited to get on board, strapped in and headsets on.  We took off and by the time we got to the waterfall and hovered in front of it a while, I was hooked.  I wanted to fly a helicopter.  Through the dream program I made it a goal and set action steps to it.  I found a company that offered introductory flights.  I booked it.  It was great!  The pilot talked to me about the helicopter and how it worked and what to expect during our flight.  He explained that we would get us in the air and he would show me how to fly it and then he would hand me the controls. I actually flew the helicopter for about 20 minutes.  Flying was relatively easy, put making that machine hover was extremely difficult.  It was a fantastic experience.  I contemplated getting my license, but decided against it.  What use was it if I didn’t fly nor owned a helicopter.  So I have let that part of the dream go by the wayside.  How many people do you know have accomplished a dream like that?

Another dream was to be a racing driver.  I think this first came from the fact that my younger brother wanted and became a drag racer.  He was a speed demon and I too like to drive fast! I loved rally car racing and would always watch the Paris to Dakar race when I was living in France.  In about 2008 we were invited to Nashville to a conference and one of the side trips was to a race track and we were offered to ride in one of the race cars.  I was ready to finally drive around the track at 180 miles per hour.  Was I excited or what!  I got my fire suit on and slipped in through the window.  The driver asked if he could go as fast as he wanted and I told him to just do it.  Four laps of exhilaration!  I loved it and would do it again at the drop of a hat.

  1. The deep ocean has had a fascination for me since I was a child, but it also made me very fearful.  But I had a dream of swimming with the dolphins in the open water.  One day the opportunity presented itself.  I didn’t hesitate.  I booked the trip to Oahu and 5-day retreat with 4 swims with the dolphins.  That first day we boarded the large zodiac and headed out to the open pacific.  We saw pods of dolphins following us and then the captain set anchor in about 300 + feet of deep dark blue ocean.  I put on my partial wetsuit and worked through my fear.  I sat on the side of the zodiac with my mask, snorkel and fins ready.  As I slipped off the zodiac into the ocean it felt like I had fallen back into the womb.  The water and the dolphins were nurturing me.  I felt no fear, I was just awestruck by hundreds of dolphins cruising around us, playing, loving and sharing their great sense of community.  I no longer have the fear of the deep ocean, in fact I would really like to go swimming with whales next.
